ADVOCACY FOR PROFESSIONALS
Experienced. Trusted. Compassionate.

Carina Lentsch advocates for professionals.
She is an experienced Ontario litigation lawyer and has devoted her legal career to assisting and representing professionals at all career stages – in College proceedings, privacy complaints, human rights applications, as well as malpractice, and other civil litigation.
Carina started her law career with McCarthy Tetrault LLP and then practiced in the area of professional regulation and liability with two boutique litigation firms in Toronto.
She has extensive experience representing a wide range of regulated health professionals, including nurses, physicians, pharmacists, dentists, dental hygienists, massage therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, registered psychotherapists, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners, and others.
In the past, Carina has also acted for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) in civil and human rights litigation matters, although her current practice is focused on defending and representing the interests of regulated professionals.
She recently completed a Certificate in Privacy Law and Health Care Information Management from Osgoode Hall Law School and has served as the Health Law Section Executive of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA).
When Carina is not practicing law, she enjoys helping kids and volunteering with a local public school’s Student Nutrition Initiative operated through the Food & Friends Program of the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.

Carina Lentsch specializes in defending regulated health professionals.
Facing a College complaint, investigation, or discipline hearing can be very stressful. You may be worried about your reputation, your license, and your future.
We make navigating the process easy and advocate for you to achieve the best possible outcome.
We help health professionals respond to College complaints and investigations strategically, to ensure they meet their professional obligations while protecting their interests and professional reputation.
When a referral to the Discipline Committee has been made, we defend health professionals facing allegations of professional misconduct – no matter how serious they may be – to help them achieve the best possible resolution.
A regulatory inquiry into your health is deeply personal. We help health professionals navigate the College’s Fitness to Practice Committee process when their capacity to practice is being questioned.
We help health professionals navigate the College’s Quality Assurance inspections and process.
When decisions of the College are unfavorable, we counsel our clients on their options and whether the decision can be appealed or reviewed, and represent them before the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board (HPARB) and the Courts.
We help health professionals defend or advance civil claims and administrative proceedings that relate to their practice, including privacy breaches and reporting obligations, employment and wrongful dismissal claims, human rights applications, negligence, breach of contract, and defamation claims.
We assist health professionals with risk management and claims prevention by providing legal opinions, reviewing and updating health care consent forms, preparing policies for health clinics and independent practitioners, and advising them on managing difficult patients before the matter escalates to something more serious.
